WE'RE ON A MISSION TO
RESTORE DIGNITY. PERIOD.

A pair of reusable period underwear means uninterrupted mobility and a life changing solution for a woman in Myanmar experiencing period poverty. We invite you to join us in this groundbreaking campaign to raise 40,000 pairs.

THE PROBLEM

In Myanmar, the cost of basic menstrual products has surged to extortionate levels, crippling access for thousands of women and girls. A pack of sanitary pads that once cost 3,000 kyat has skyrocketed to 9,000 kyat. With the local minimum wage at just 7,800 kyat, a single pack now costs more than a full day’s labor.

For survivors of human trafficking, this is yet another layer of control, humiliation, and stripped dignity.

Women and girls are now resorting to rags, leaves, and newspapers. These unsafe materials cause infections, and infections without access to medicine becomes a health crisis.

Women are now staying indoors during their periods rather than going to work or gathering in markets and classrooms.

Each missed day deepens their isolation and vulnerability.

“I can't afford to buy pads every month. When this happens, I have to stay at home without using any pads. Sometimes, I can only use one pad for an entire day, which can be uncomfortable and difficult"

Yamin - Survivor of Human Trafficking

PERIOD

UNDERWEAR

Unlike disposable pads, period underwear is reusable, discreet, and not subject to the same supply chain issues as other menstrual products. With proper care it can last up to two years, making it a long-term investment in women’s health and dignity rather than a short-term relief item.

"In our ongoing humanitarian crises, millions of women face the daunting choice of either buying small portions of food to feed their family or pads for their menstrual health. Of course, they choose the food. However, with this campaign, many of these women will no longer have to make such a sacrifice. This support will profoundly impact the lives of the women in our programs."

HOW TO...

Every Project Dignity kit includes clear instructions to help women and girls confidently use and care for their reusable period underwear. Alongside printed guides distributed with every kit, we have produced animated training videos in multiple local languages to ensure recipients can understand how to wear, wash and maintain them for years to come.
