THE PROBLEM

According to the International Labour Organization, an estimated 49.6 million people are trapped in modern-day slavery worldwide. Behind that number are individuals with their own stories, relationships, ambitions and futures.

In Myanmar, decades of conflict, economic instability and growing poverty have created conditions in which human trafficking and exploitation can thrive. Families facing desperation are often left with impossible choices, and traffickers are quick to exploit vulnerability.

"WE EXIST TO DISRUPT THE CYCLE OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING BY PROVIDING ESSENTIAL PROGRAMS THAT EMPOWER SURVIVORS TO FIND FREEDOM, HEALING AND RECLAIM THEIR LIVES."

OUR STRATEGY

Eden walks alongside women and girls impacted by human trafficking and sexual exploitation, supporting their journey towards safety, healing, freedom and a future of empowered choices.

Grounded in our Christian faith, we take a whole-person approach — addressing physical and emotional healing, strengthening social connection, and creating pathways to education, economic independence and sustainable livelihoods.

FRONTLINE RESPONSE

OUTREACH
Eden Outreach teams make weekly visits to areas where trafficking and sexual exploitation are prevalent, connecting with women and girls at risk and linking them with essential support, including healthcare, rapid HIV testing and access to local drop-in centres and safe shelters.
SUPPORT
Our vision goes beyond initial intervention and recovery. Through education, training, leadership development and opportunities to speak, influence and lead, we support survivors to reclaim their voices, shape their futures and become powerful agents of change in their families and communities.
Prevention
We hold regular awareness events in at-risk communities, providing education about trafficking and exploitation, helping people recognise the risks, and connecting those already affected with practical support and pathways to safety.

SAFE SPACES

DROP-IN CENTRES
Our drop-in centres provide women and girls with a safe and supportive environment where they can access trauma counselling, learn new skills, build relationships and explore pathways to safe employment or starting their own enterprises.
SAFE SHELTERS
For women and girls requiring immediate shelter, we provide safe housing in secure locations, alongside trauma-informed care, counselling and practical support.
TRAUMA COUNSELLING
Eden provides Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to support the unique needs of women and girls who have experienced trafficking, exploitation and trauma, including associated PTSD.
